I saw the Tamale Lady last night outside the Cat Club in SOMA around 2-3am.
She was having to fight off the competition of some guys grilling sausages outside on a cart. I guess the sidewalk food business is getting competitive, eh?

Tue, April 4, 2006 - 7:41 PMI was at one of those little gallery/bar spaces on Natoma St. near 2nd the other night and a tamale GUY came in with his cooler on wheels and set up shop. I did not sample his wares, but a few others did with no obvious signs of distress.
Alas unlike a supernatural being Tamale Lady cannot be in all places at once.
More food that comes to you is a good thing, IMHO. -
